With its stunning scenario design and detective-themed open-world action game, L.A. Noire transports players into the role of a genuine investigator for the duration of the narrative. Inspired by old movies, the game also has a period-appropriate soundtrack and the choice to play in black and white for a noir-style adventure.

Yakuza 0 is an action-adventure game that transports you to Tokyo in 1988 and acts as a prologue to several previous Yazuka games. It took two years for the game, first released in Japan in 2015, to make it to North America and Europe, though the PS3 version remained a Japan-only release.
Grand Theft Auto has consistently been acclaimed for bringing cities to life, with so many side activities to enjoy outside of the primary campaign. Yakuza 0’s design ethos is carried to its logical conclusion. Yakuza 0 features karaoke, pool, arcade games, wrestling, bowling, dance, gambling, and other activities, joining games like Grand Theft Auto 5. I recall being uncomfortable seeing some graphic content in a video store’s back room. The sheer quantity and range of alternatives are astounding, albeit those last two can attest that not all side activities are done tastefully. Yakuza is far more limited in scope than GTA, but what it lacks in quantity (quirky, offbeat), it makes up for in quality.
9: The Saboteur

With a World War II theme and a setting that differs from typical open-world action-adventure games, The Saboteur challenges players to ruin anything in their path to aid the war cause. As you play on Windows, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3, you’re guaranteed a distinctive adventure with a location that the genre hasn’t touched before. Players assume the character of Sean Devlin, who seeks to sabotage during the Nazi occupation of Paris in the game.
The Saboteur is a fantastic game because it takes the open-world gaming experience and puts a WWII context on it. It is based on historical events in France during the German occupation. The main character of The Saboteur is Sean Devlin, an Irish cab driver who joins the resistance when German forces kill his best friend.
The Saboteur and GTA 5 both feature similar gameplay. In both, players must dash around an open environment while stealing cars, wreaking havoc, and dodging the law. The Saboteur’s captivating open-world gameplay and side quests will keep players occupied for hours.
10: Saints Row: The Third

Even if a Saints Row remake was launched last year, we still prefer the third game for Saints Row mayhem. It’s incredibly entertaining from beginning to end, and we also heartily endorse the absurd fourth game. At first, Saints Row was blatantly a GTA clone, feverishly striving to imitate Rockstar’s aesthetic. It was ultimately a lackluster effort that succeeded in gaining a cult following for two games but fell short of leaving a lasting effect. In contrast, Saints Row: The Third noticed how gloomy and somber games like GTA were getting, said “f that,” and made them absurd.
You pretend to be pals who are so well-known and adored that you rob a bank while wearing novelty costumes of yourself. Players will battle with a three-foot-long dildo bat as a melee weapon while dealing with a small-scale zombie apocalypse and making important decisions. Saints Row keeps trying to be as ridiculous as possible unlike many GTA-like games. Despite being an older game, returning the Saints is a beautiful opportunity because it has backward compatibility on Xbox One and was ported to Nintendo Switch in 2019.
